GlobalFoundries Names New Execs

Newly formed chip maker added Jim Doran as senior vice president and general manager, Bruce McDougall became CFO, and Alexie Lee was named vice president and general counsel.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) -- GlobalFoundries Inc., a newly formed chip manufacturer, on Wednesday named new executives to join its management ranks.

The company, a joint venture between AMD and Advanced Technology Investment Co. that started up this month, added Jim Doran as senior vice president and general manager of its Dresden, Germany, manufacturing facility.

He joins Sunnyvale, Calif.-based GlobalFoundries from Spansion Inc., where he was chief operating officer. He also worked at AMD, holding a variety of technical and management jobs.

While at AMD, he helped build the company's Dresden manufacturing facility, which is now under GlobalFoundries.

Bruce McDougall became the chief financial officer while Alexie Lee was named vice president and general counsel.
