Honda Manufacturing Of Alabama Names CEO

Nobuyuki Sanui named new president, replacing Hiroshi Sasamoto who will become CEO of the company's manufacturing operations in Ontario, Canada.

LINCOLN, Ala. (AP) -- Honda Manufacturing of Alabama has named Nobuyuki Sanui as its new president, replacing Hiroshi Sasamoto who will become CEO of the company's manufacturing operations in Ontario, Canada.

The company announced Monday that Sanui will become CEO effective April 1. Sanui is currently the president of Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America in Russells Point, Ohio.

Besides his position in Ontario, Sasamoto will also be promoted to operating officer of Honda Motor Co.

Parent company, Honda Motor Co., also named Takanobu Ito, head of core automaking operations, as its new chief executive to provide fresh leadership to battle the auto industry crisis. Ito replaces Takeo Fukui who will remain on the board as adviser.
