Eli Lilly's Conterno To Lead U.S. Business

President of the drug maker's U.S. business resigned, and it promoted former neurosciences and international marketing executive Enrique Conterno to the post.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co. said Friday that the president of its U.S. business resigned, and it promoted a former neurosciences and international marketing executive to the post.

Enrique Conterno was named president of Lilly USA after Deirdre Connelly left to pursue other opportunities. Coterno was senior vice president of health care professional markets in the U.S., and has also worked as vice president of Lilly's U.S. neuroscience business.

Before that, Conterno led Lilly's marketing in Peru and Brazil, and later was executive director for all marketing outside the U.S., Europe and Japan. The former sales representative also became general manager of Lilly Mexico.

Connelly had lead Lilly USA since 2005.
