MELVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — Arrow Electronics Inc. said Monday it named Michael J. Long as its president and chief operating officer.
Long, 49, also was elected to the board and has been nominated for re-election as a director ahead of the company's annual meeting in May.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William E. Mitchell had been serving as Arrow's president.
A 17-year veteran of Arrow, Long will be responsible for business operations, including Arrow's Global Components and Enterprise Computing Solutions groups.
Long previously served as senior vice president of Arrow and president of the company's global components business.
Arrow provides products and services to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing systems.
