AUSTIN, Texas — Freescale Semiconductor, a manufacturer of embedded semiconductors, today named Rich Beyer chairman and chief executive officer of the company, effective March 2008.
Beyer comes to Freescale from Intersil Corporation, maker of high performance analog semiconductors, where he was CEO and a member of its board of directors. He will be based in Austin, TX.
Beyer succeeds Michel Mayer, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board and CEO until the transition is effective in March 2008.
