Michelin North America President To Retire

Jim Micali, head of Michelin North American for the last decade, will retire later this year to work as a consultant for the company and other firms in South Carolina.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — The head of Michelin North American for the last decade will retire later this year to work as a consultant for the company and other firms in South Carolina, Michelin said Tuesday.
 
Jim Micali, 60, became chairman and president of Michelin North America in 1996. His retirement will be effective Aug. 15, the company said in a news release.
 
Micali has been with Michelin since 1977. He will be succeeded by Dick Wilkerson, who became Michelin North America's executive vice president for personnel in 2006.
 
Wilkerson, 60, has been with the company for 28 years.
 
Michelin designs, makes and sells tires for a variety of vehicles, including airplanes, automobiles and farm equipment.
 
Greenville-based Michelin North America has more than 22,500 employees and operates 19 major manufacturing plants in 17 locations.
More
