Mueller Industries Chief To Resign, New CEO Named

Maker of copper, brass and aluminum industrial products said Tuesday that Greg L. Christopher will become chief executive, effective Jan. 1, 2009.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Mueller Industries Inc., which makes copper, brass and aluminum industrial products, said Tuesday that Greg L. Christopher will become chief executive, effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Christopher, 46, will replace current CEO William D. O'Hagan, who will resign on Dec. 31, 2008, for health reasons. Last October he was diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing treatment.

Christopher has worked with O'Hagan for nearly 20 years, most recently as chief operating officer.

"During (O'Hagan's) tenure net income increased at a compounded annual rate of 13.7 percent and the Company was regularly included in Forbes Platinum List of Best Big Companies in America," said Chairman Harvey L. Karp.
