Polaris Industries Taps Outsider For CEO

Motorsports equipment maker said Scott Wine, from UTC Fire and Security, will become the company's chief executive on Sept. 1.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Motorsports equipment maker Polaris Industries Inc. said Monday that Scott W. Wine will become the company's chief executive on Sept. 1.

Wine will succeed Thomas C. Tiller, 47, who will continue to serve on the company's board of directors.

Polaris announced in January that Tiller, citing personal reasons, would step down when his current employment contract expired at the end of 2008.

Wine, 41, joins Polaris from UTC Fire and Security, a unit of Hartford, Ct.-based United Technologies Corp., where he served as president of the company's Fire Safety Americas division.

He also held senior leadership positions at Danaher Corp. and Honeywell International Inc., and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
