MIAMI (AP) -- Trucking and logistics management company Ryder System Inc. said Monday it has elected former Caterpillar Inc. executive James S. Beard to its board of directors.
Beard has also been appointed to Ryder's finance and compensation committees.
Beard, 67, served as president of Caterpillar Financial Services Corp. from 1991 to 2005. He was also a financial products division corporate vice president for Caterpillar Inc.
Shares of Ryder climbed 49 cents to $66.30 in morning trading.
