ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) -- Car maker Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday it appointed Tetsuo Agata as the new president and chief operating officer of its engineering and manufacturing North America subsidiary.
Agata was most recently executive vice president of R&D/Manufacturing Co., Toyota Motor Europe. He replaces Seiichi Sudo in the new position at the subsidiary, called Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc.
Sudo has been named president of Toyota Motor Kyushu Inc. in Japan.
The company said it also named Shigeki Terashi as executive vice president of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America and president of Toyota Technical Center.
Terashi was chief executive engineer of Toyota Development Center 1 in Japan.
He replaces Yasuhiko Ichihashi, who will be a senior managing director at Toyota Motor.
