Pfizer Hires Alcatel-Lucent Exec As CFO

Frank D'Amelio will become drug developer's new chief financial officer in mid-September, replacing Alan Levin.

NEW YORK (AP) — Drug developer Pfizer Inc. said Frank D'Amelio, an executive with communications equipment company Alcatel-Lucent, will become the company's new chief financial officer in mid-September, replacing Alan Levin.
 
D'Amelio is currently the chief administration officer at Alcatel-Lucent. Levin announced his resignation from Pfizer in May.
 
Meanwhile, Paris-based Alcatel-Lucent said the organizations that previously reported to D'Amelio will now report to other members of the senior leadership team. That company also announced that its president of science, technology and strategy has also decided to leave the company.
 
He will be replaced by Etienne Fouques, head of the company's carrier business unit.
 
Shares of Pfizer rose 11 cents to $24.35 in premarket trading after closing at $24.24 Tuesday. Shares of Alcatel-Lucent rose 23 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $10.85 in premarket trading after closing at $10.62 Tuesday.
