NAM Announces Award For Excellence In Community Service

The $5000 award, named for former NAM president, Sandy Trowbridge, will be donated to the charity of the award recipient’s choosing.

WASHINGTON – The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced Thursday a new $5,000 charitable award that will be given to a small to medium size manufacturer who best embodies the spirit of its namesake, the late Sandy Trowbridge, president of the organization from 1979 to 1989.

The Sandy Trowbridge Award for Excellence in Community Service will be given to an NAM member with 1,000 or fewer employees.

“As president of the NAM, Sandy utilized his leadership among the business industry to enrich the broader community,” said NAM President John Engler. “This award will recognize a company for its community service at a local, state or national level.”

Trowbridge passed away in 2006.

The award will be announced at the NAM’s Board of Directors meeting in September and will be donated to the charity of the award recipient’s choosing.
