ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Affinia Group Inc., a supplier of on- and off-highway replacement products, announced Tuesday that it has signed a joint venture agreement with MAT Holdings, Inc. (MAT), to produce and distribute brake products in Shanghai, China and New Delhi, India.
Production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2008.
According to John R. Washbish, president of Affinia’s Under Vehicle Group, the partnership will allow Affinia to expand its manufacturing presence in China and India, and to strengthen its distribution base throughout Asia.
MAT has manufacturing facilities in Europe and Asia, and has been a supplier of brake system components to Affinia since 1995.
