Toyota Appoints New President For Texas Facility

Kenji Fukuta will succeed current president, Hidehiko "TJ" Tajima, who will be returning to Toyota Motor in Japan.

ERLANGER, Ky - Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., announced Thursday the naming of Kenji Fukuta as the new president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. (TMMTX), effective May 1, 2007, succeeding the current president, Hidehiko "TJ" Tajima.

Tajima will return to Japan for his new assignment as General Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Affairs Division at Toyota Motor Corp.

As president since October 2003, Tajima successfully oversaw planning and construction of Toyota's sixth vehicle manufacturing plant in North America.

Fukuta, a 20-year Toyota veteran, was General Manager at Toyota's Tsutsumi plant in Japan, which produces the Prius, Camry and Scion vehicles.

TMMTX employes 2,000 people and has the capacity to produce 200,000 Tundras annually.
