Air Products said Monday that it will build a new hydrogen production facility in Garyville, La. to add new capacity to its Louisiana pipeline system.
The 120 million standard cubic feet per day plant is expected to be on-stream in late 2009 and will supply the Garyville refinery operations of Marathon Petroleum Co. LLC.
Air Products has been supplying hydrogen to Marathon at the Garyville refinery since 1993.
Air Products will be working with Technip, a provider of engineering and construction services for oil, gas and petrochemicals. Technip will be responsible for the design and construction of steam reformers and Air Products will provide the gas separation technology.
