Samsung India To Open Second Manufacturing Complex In Chennai

Samsung India Electronics Pvt. intends to set up a second manufacturing complex in Chennai.

Samsung India Electronics has completed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu, India, to set up a second manufacturing complex in Chennai.

The new complex could require an investment of up to $100 million over a five year period, starting in 2007.

The first phase of the center will provide manufacturing space for televisions, monitors, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and printers.

The company’s current manufacturing complex, located in Noida, is spread over 30 acres and manufacturers several different products, and houses the company's R&D operations.
