Xplore Technologies, a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, Monday announced the use of a durable fingerprint reader in its computers.
According to the company, this is the first use of biometrics for access of data on a rugged pen tablet computer. The durable finger print scanner provides security authentication, as well as a user-accessible hard drive and PC card bay so that users can manage and maintain better control of sensitive materials.
The new iX104C3 Tablet PC is also RoHS compliant, Xplore said.
