Pall Planning More Production In Puerto Rico

Filtration manufacturer establishing Life Sciences Center; will add 250 jobs by 2010.

Pall Corp., a manufacturer of filtration, separation and purification equipment, announced on Tuesday plans to expand its life sciences manufacturing operations in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

The creation of the Life Sciences Center of Excellence will increase Pall's capacity on the island to meet the growing demand for its products by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, blood centers and hospitals.

Pall plans to invest approximately $50 million in facilities, machinery and equipment and will add more than 250 full-time jobs in Puerto Rico by the year 2010.

The expansion in Puerto Rico is a further movement in Pall's standardization and consolidation of its global manufacturing organization. The Company expects that Puerto Rico’s competitive tax rate combined with its facilities optimization program will result in an incremental after-tax benefit of more than $10 million annually in three years.
