Albemarle Corp., a producer of bromine and derivative chemicals, said Monday it will increase prices on its entire line of brominated fine chemicals produced in Port-de-Bouc, France by 20 percent.
The increase will go into effect on November 15, 2006, or as contracts allow. Albemarle said the increases were due to the higher market value of Bromine and also to adjust for the sale of the company’s plant in Thann, France, earlier this year.
Brominated fine chemicals are used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, photographic chemicals, biocides, paper chemicals, perfumes, dyes and other products.
