Carlisle Companies Buys Assets Of Chinese Tire Group

Company purchased assets of Meiyan Tire Group in a deal expected to close in March 2007.

Carlisle Companies Inc. said Monday it will acquire the assets of Meiyan Tire Group in Meizhou, Guangdong, China, becoming part of Carlisle Tire & Wheel Co.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is expected to close by March 31, 2007.

“This acquisition enables Carlisle Tire & Wheel to internalize production of their current lines of bias and steel-belted radial trailer tires,” said Carlisle President and CEO Richmond McKinnish. “Additionally, it will provide enhanced manufacturing capabilities for larger tires for the agricultural and construction markets,”

Carlisle is a global manufacturing company serving the construction materials, commercial roofing, specialty tire and wheel, power transmission, heavy-duty brake and friction, heavy-haul truck trailer, foodservice and data transmission industries.
