Singapore Airlines said Friday that it has chosen the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine for its new fleet of 19 leased Airbus A330-300 twinjets.
According to Rolls-Royce, the Trent 700 is the cleanest and quietest engine for the A330 and meets both current and proposed legislation on environmental targets.
Singapore airlines currently has 63 Rolls-Royce powered aircraft – five Airbus A340-500s powered by the Trent 500 and 58 Boeing 777’s powered by the Trent 800 – and has 10 Trent 900-powered A380s on order.
