KROHNE Introduces its OPTISONIC 7300 Universal Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter
KROHNE, Inc., a global technology leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of accurate, reliable and cost effective measuring instruments for the process industries, introduces its OPTISONIC 7300 universal ultrasonic gas flowmeter for process gas applications. KROHNE is completing its portfolio of gas meters, ranging from compressed air to custody transfer applications for natural gas. The OPTISONIC 7300 provides an economic solution for gas flow measurement in process and auxiliary measurements in oil and gas refineries, the chemical and the petrochemical industry and is the measurement of choice for non custody transfer natural gas applications. It also provides benefits to many other applications such as (compressed) air, mixed gas, steam or flue gas.
The OPTISONIC 7300 is a 2-beam ultrasonic flowmeter that provides excellent long term measurement stability and repeatability. Class 1, Div 1 approved, it delivers high performance over a wide bi-directional flow range of ± 30 m/s (± 90 ft/s) with 1% accuracy. As standard, it uses titanium transducers which are better focused, equalizing process fluctuations and avoiding acoustic feedback; stainless steel transducers are available on request. Built for long-term use, the OPTISONIC 7300 features a maintenance free full bore flow sensor and an overall sturdy and robust construction with no cables or sensitive parts exposed. The maintenance free design with no moving parts in the flow sensor and the wide range of applications make using the device particularly cost-effective. In many applications process gas volume is required at standard conditions. The OPTISONIC 7300 provides calculation to standard conditions by using the input of temperature and pressure sensors which can be directly connected to the device. The electronics also include diagnostics to validate the functions of the flowmeter and the process. Modbus, FOUNDATION fieldbus and HART are included for field communication.

KROHNE to Highlight Analysis and Measurement Technology at 2016 International Cheese Technology Expo
KROHNE, Inc. will highlight its analysis and measurement technology ideal for the cheese-making industry at the 2016 International Cheese Technology Expo, April 12-14, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, WI. KROHNE experts will be on hand in Booth #1633 to demonstrate the OPTIQUAD-M analysis system for dairies and cheese-making operations, the Viscoline inline process rheometer, and the OPTIMASS 7300 straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeter. The OPTIQUAD-M spectroscopic analysis system for inline measurement features continuous, non-contact measurement of dairy application ingredients, including protein, fat, and lactose in milk products. Ideal for increasing protein content in cheese-making milk or vat milk, standardization of fat content in drinking milk, or setting a constant ratio of fat to protein in cheese production, the OPTIQUAD-M provides new opportunities for process optimization and quality improvement. The Viscoline inline process rheometer will also be featured at the booth. The Viscoline provides in-line, continuous measurement of fluid viscosity for process control and monitoring applications. Ideal for use wherever viscosity measurement is required for process or quality control, the Viscoline is a good choice for a variety of Newtonian or non-Newtonian applications, including yogurt and cheese making. Simple and efficient, the Viscoline features all stainless steel construction and no moving parts. No in-situ calibration is required. Visitors to KROHNE’s booth will also see the OPTIMASS 7300 straight tube Coriolis meter, with highly precise measurement accuracy of 0.1 percent. The multifunctional sensor offers direct measurement of density, mass, volume, and product temperature. The single straight tube eliminates the need for a flow splitter and also optimizes cleaning processes, preventing product buildup on the inner walls of the measuring tube.
