Manufacturer's Super Bowl Ads Emphasize 'American-Made'

For the third year in a row, WeatherTech will air a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl.

For the third year in a row, WeatherTech will air a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl.

The Illinois-based car floor mat manufacturer prides itself on its American-made products by American workers. Its first two Super Bowl commercials emphasized this "Made in America" aspect, an angle which they may very likely continue in this year's ad.

Take a look at their 2014 commercial which introduced the company's clear stance on American manufacturing:

The commercial was well-received by audiences across the country who praised the message on American manufacturing, a hot topic in conversations across the industry and in political debate to this day. A 2014 poll shared by the Alliance for American Manufacturing showed that 72 percent of likely voters were highly concerned with the loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S.

A strong dollar and China's struggling economy have led to struggles in U.S. manufacturing. Companies are aiming for reshoring goals, but 2015 saw a decline reshoring and an increase in offshoring according to recent reports.

With the subject being such a hot topic, it's no wonder WeatherTech gained so much attention for their Super Bowl ads so far. Check out their 2015 commercial which featured their own employees:

So, what are your predictions for WeatherTech's upcoming Super Bowl spot? Will they continue their "proudly made in America" theme? Is this the trend for American manufacturers, or is the fight for reshoring slipping through the cracks?
