While most of us were celebrating Independence Day downing hot dogs and drinks with friends and family, competitive eater Joey Chestnut was taking hot dog consumption to a new level at this year’s Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest. Chestnut won the men’s division of the competition by devouring 62 hot dogs in ten minutes. The competition also featured its first ever women’s division, which was won by Sonya Thomas after she consumed 40 hot dogs in ten minutes.
