Actor Danny Glover and hundreds of Hugo Boss workers rallied outside of the German clothing manufacturer’s Brooklyn, Ohio facility Wednesday in an effort to gain support for keeping the plant open.
In December, Hugo Boss announced its plans to close the Brooklyn plant and move jobs and manufacturing out of the country. The company also stated the factory was no longer globally competitive.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, in attendance at Wednesday’s rally, pledged the state would do everything in its power to keep the plant open and keep its 375 workers employed. Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) was also at the rally to show his support of the plant and its workers.
