One California manufacturer, Role Models Railworks, has found a great deal of success making a quirky something that appeals to a select few consumers: fully-functioning model trains. Called "trainiacs," these enthusiasts spend thousands of dollars (sometimes up to $50,000) on miniature steam engines that are completely rideable.
