An Overflow Of Flowmeter Calibration Capabilities

The Flow Dynamics lab recently added a new 300-GPM positive-displacement primary standard calibrator to increase its calibration capacity throughput. The facility plans to install an additional calibrator later this year.

According to Flow Dynamics, the company was the first independent flow calibration laboratory to receive prestigious National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP®) accreditation from the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) in conformance with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

COX Instruments provides precision turbine flowmeters with the ability to withstand demanding liquid and gas flowmetering requirements. The company's turbine meters grant a mechanical linearity from 15:1 on 1/2-in. meters and up to 100:1 on 2-in. meters without the use of linearizing electronics. Its precision line of flowmeters achieves a ±0.02 percent repeatability with a combined accuracy of ±0.25 percent of reading. COX says the addition of a helical rotor can offer a fast response time of 2 to 3 milliseconds in MIL-C-7024C fluid.

All COX turbine flowmeter calibrations, performed by the Flow Dynamics NVLAP® facility, are fully traceable to NIST guidelines, not to mention they comply with ISO 17025, ISO 9002, ISO Guide 25, ANSI/NCSL Z-540 and MIL-STD-45662A.
