Boeing announced yesterday it has received new aircraft orders worth $13.7 billion from Emirates Airlines and China. Emirates is the Persian Gulf's biggest airline, and bought 42 of Boeing's long-range 777 models worth $9.7 billion. The deal will make Emirates the largest Boeing 777 operator in the world.

Boeing also signed an agreement with China for 70 of its smaller 737 models worth $4 billion while President Bush was on a visit to Beijing, according to a report in the New York Times. The report added that Boeing was still in talks with Chinese customers for 80 more 737 aircraft, but that the company did not give further details or identify the airlines.
