Boeing Machinists Accept New Offer, End Strike

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers employed at Boeing facilities in California, Alabama and Florida, have voted to accept the company's offer for new contracts.

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers employed at Boeing facilities in California, Alabama and Florida have voted to accept the company's offer for new contracts. The vote ends a strike that began on November 2, 2005, when workers rejected new, three-year contract proposals over wages, health insurance and retirement benefits.
The new contract covers approximately 1,500 employees who support Boeing Integrated Defense Systems operations in Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Torrance and Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA; Huntsville and Decatur, AL; and the Space Coast of Florida. Among other revisions, the new offer includes lower medical insurance premiums and deductibles. Workers can return to work on Monday, Feb. 6.
