Auto parts supplier Denso has announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing facility in Maryville, TN. The Japan-based company said it will spend $185 million to add approximately 220,000 sq. ft. to its existing 1.5 million-sq.-ft. plant which currently makes starters, alternators, instrument clusters and automotive electronics. The company said the expansion will create 500 new jobs by 2010. Construction is expected to start in 2007, with production beginning in 2008.
