NEW YORK (AP) — Solar cell maker China Sunergy Co. Ltd. said Monday it signed a supply deal with an unnamed Taiwan-based wafer provider for about 68 megawatts of solar cell wafers.
The news sent shares up 42 cents, or 6.9 percent, to $6.49 in premarket electronic trading.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the company said pricing terms are subject to quarterly negotiation.
The company said 8 percent of the wafer supplies are expected to be shipped in November and December of this year, with the remaining shipment to be made over the next two years.
