Dow Chemical Fires Advisor, Officer For Acquisition Discussion

A senior advisor and an officer of the company were fired on Thursday, following information disclosed to Dow about misconduct involving unauthorized acquisition discussions.

The Dow Chemical Co. announced Thursday that senior advisor and Board member Pedro Reinhard and Romeo Kreinberg, an officer of the company, have been fired for behavior that was in violation of Dow’s Code of Business Conduct.

According to Dow, both Reinhard and Kreinberg were involved in unauthorized discussions with third parties regarding a potential acquisition of the company.

Information about the misconduct was disclosed to Dow on April 10, the Board of Directors was informed April 11, and the individuals were fired on April 12.

“The values of integrity and respect for people are at the very core of our company,” said Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO. “I think I speak for all employees when I say we are greatly saddened by the disrespect shown by our former colleagues.”
