Mariner Restarts Gulf Oil Projects After Hurricanes

Production has been restarted at Ochre and Pluto in the Gulf of Mexico.

Mariner Energy Inc. announced Wednesday that it has restarted production on its Ochre and Pluto deepwater Gulf of Mexico projects. Ochre was shut-in after Hurricane Ivan and production at a gross rate of 10.5 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day has been restored. After being delayed by Hurricane Katrina, Pluto is producing at a gross rate of 40 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day.

Mariner anticipates the rest of the production shut-in from 2005 hurricane damage will restart in the fourth quarter of 2006.
