The International Energy Agency (IEA), which acts as the energy watchdog for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries, revised demand figures to 1.49 million barrels a day. This is a reduction from 1.78 million barrels approximately one month ago.

Gasoline figures rose more than two cents to $1.7654 a gallon, while heating oil rose about one cent to $1.7654 a gallon.

Nigeria's oil production has been off recently due to militant attacks on pipelines and oil facilities by approximately 400,000 barrels a day.
