Open To The Public: Florida Announces Ethanol Fueling Sites

First plant in Florida to be joined by 16 additional locations.

General Motors announced Wednesday that it has helped with the plans for the launch of E85 ethanol fueling sites in the Tallahassee area as part of a collaborative partnership with Inland Food Stores and the State of Florida.

The Inland Food Store at 3500 North Monroe, where the announcement was made, will be the first location to publicly offer E85 ethanol in Florida.

Southwest Georgia Oil Co. will identify 16 additional locations for E85 between now and the start of 2007.

Elizabeth Lowery, GM vice president of environment and energy said: “We appreciate that Inland Food Stores is joining our efforts to make this great fuel alternative available to people in Florida. We also appreciate the support of Gov. Bush and the State of Florida as we continue to promote the use of E85 ethanol and its many benefits for the environment, the economy and consumers.”

GM has made similar announcements in California, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Texas.
