Mitsubishi Motors and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have announced a joint development project for a next-generation diesel engine to be used in cars in Europe. The target for production is 2010.
The engine will be a two-liter class unit for use in small to mid-sized cars. The new engine will meet Euro5 standards and development should be completed by mid-2009. The engine will be introduced to Mitsubishi Motors’ key European market models.
