Ford Issues Do Not Drive Advisory for 4.6K Vehicles

A critical piece may not have been assembled correctly.

Ford Motor Company issued a "Do Not Drive" advisory for about 4,653 vehicles because of a potential suspension assembly issue. The warning applies to Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles from the 2021 to 2026 model years in the U.S.

According to the automaker, an assembly issue may have affected the front lower control arm ball joints of the vehicles' suspension systems. If a joint fails while the vehicle is moving, the driver could lose steering control.

Ford is working with dealers to provide complimentary towing for impacted vehicles for inspection and repair as needed. Where applicable, the company will also offer mobile service that allows dealership personnel to inspect vehicles at the customer's location.

Dealers will visually inspect the front lower control arm ball joint assembly on both the left and right sides and make repairs necessary at not cost to the customer.

Customers can determine if their vehicle is included in this recall (26S36) by entering their 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) at www.ford.com/support/recalls. Owners may also contact Ford’s Customer Service Center at 1-833-807-3673 for assistance in arranging a tow and repair.
