Polestar Reports Highest Ever Q1 Retail Sales of Over 13K Cars in Q1 2026

Representing a growth of 7% compared to a year ago.

Electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar announced that its retail sales amounted to an estimated 13,126 cars in Q1 2026, a growth of 7% compared to Q1 2025. The company added that it currently operates 230 retail sales points, compared to 154 at the end of Q1 2025.

“Following a record 2025, we’ve delivered our highest ever first quarter retail sales figure," Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller said. “Growth compared to the first quarter last year totaled 7%, with a strong performance in key markets such as Australia, Germany, Sweden, South Korea and the UK."

Polestar plans to reach approximately 250 sales points by the end of this year, which would represent a growth of 20% compared to the end of 2025.

Last month, the automaker announced plans to discontinue production of its Polestar 3 electric SUV in China and direct future manufacturing to sister brand Volvo Cars' facility near Charleston, South Carolina.

Polestar currently manufactures its lineup in the U.S., China and Korea, with plans to expand to Europe.
