General Motor’s unveiled its Chevrolet-FNR concept car at their Shanghai GM Gala Night, which celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the brand in China.
Designed by GM’s Shanghai-based Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture, the Chevrolet-FNR is an autonomous electric concept vehicle that offers a glimpse at future mobility.
The Chevrolet-FNR has a futuristic capsule design with crystal laser headlights and taillights, dragonfly dual swing doors, magnetic hubless wheel electric motors and a wireless auto-charge system.
This concept vehicle is loaded with a range of intelligent technologies including sensors and roof-mounted radar that can map out the environment to enable driverless operation, Chevy Intelligent Assistant and iris recognition start.
While in self-driving mode, the vehicle's front seats can swivel 180 degrees to face the rear seats. The driver can also switch back to manual mode through a gesture control feature.
