Toyota Raises Suggested Price For Some Models

Automaker said that it raised the manufacturer's suggested retail price for most 2011 Toyota, Scion and Lexus models between 1.2 percent and 2.2 percent.

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. said Thursday that it raised the manufacturer's suggested retail price for most 2011 Toyota, Scion and Lexus models between 1.2 percent and 2.2 percent.

The price increases on Toyota models range from $200 for the Yaris Liftback to $900 for the Land Cruiser and Sequoia large sport utility vehicles.

The automaker did not alter the suggested retail price for the 2011 Toyota Tacoma compact pickup truck, Yaris sedan, Scion tC sports coupe, Scion xB urban utility vehicle, Lexus CT 200h hybrid premium compact or the 2012 LFA supercar.

The increases on the models produced in North America will go into effect on vehicles produced beginning in May. For models built in Japan, such as the 4Runner, Corolla, FJ Cruiser and Prius, the new pricing will go into effect on vehicles with scheduled May arrivals.

The suggested retail prices don't include delivery, processing and handling fees.

Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. is Toyota Motor Corp.'s U.S. subsidiary.

Shares in Toyota Motor rose 43 cents to $80.68 in aftermarket trading, after sliding 71 cents to $80.25 during the regular session.
