Survey: Ford Customers Most Loyal

Six of the top 10 vehicles traded for the same brand were Fords, beating out Toyota's popular Camry and Corolla models in a brand loyalty survey.

DETROIT (AP) -- Ford Motor Co. had the most loyal consumers in a recent survey, the consumer data company Experian said Thursday.

Loyalty was measured by the percentage of customers who chose the same brand when they were buying a new vehicle. Six of the top 10 vehicles traded for the same brand were Fords, Experian said.

Vehicles with the highest customer loyalty ratings were the Ford Fusion (62 percent), Ford Edge (58 percent) and Ford Five Hundred (56 percent). The Toyota Prius, at 52 percent, was the highest-ranking non-Ford car.

Rounding out the top 10 were the Ford Freestyle (52 percent), Chevrolet Impala (52 percent), Ford Escape (49 percent), Toyota Camry (48 percent), Ford Focus (48 percent) and Toyota Corolla (48 percent).

Experian examined motor vehicle registrations during the second quarter of this year in all 50 states.

The Ford Edge and Escape had the strongest gains in loyalty compared to the same quarter last year. Loyalty dropped slightly for the Toyota Camry and Corolla.
