Audi Sales Up 33 Percent

Automaker said February U.S. sales were up 33.6 percent from year earlier, due to strong demand for its A4 and A5 models, its Q5 crossover, and clean diesel technology.

HERNDON, Va. -- Audi said its February U.S. sales were up 33.6 percent from a year earlier, due to strong demand for its A4/S4 models, the Audi Q5 crossover, TDI clean diesel technology, and the A5/S5 models.

The automaker sold 6,216 vehicles, compared to 4,653 in February 2009. For the first two months of 2010, sales were up 35.7 percent from the same period in 2009.

“Audi continues to build on the positive U.S. sales momentum gathered throughout 2009,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “We are confident that the months ahead will continue to validate how the Audi brand captured the imagination of American premium car consumers.”
