Former Toyota Exec New Dana CEO

Automotive parts supplier has named retired Toyota Motor Corp. executive Gary Convis as its new CEO.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Automotive parts supplier Dana Holding Corp. has named a retired Toyota Motor Corp. executive as its new CEO.

Sixty-five-year-old Gary Convis takes the chief executive title from Dana executive chairman John Devine, who has also been serving as acting CEO since January.

Convis is a member of the new Dana board of directors appointed in January when the Toledo-based auto parts supplier emerged from two years of bankruptcy protection.

Before retiring in 2007, Convis was with Toyota more than 20 years, rising to chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky. Earlier in his career, Convis worked in various roles with General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co.

Convis says he's looking forward to returning Dana to the top ranks of its industry.
