Toyota Boshoku To Take Root In Kentucky

Company set to open home office in Northern Kentucky by August 2007.

Toyota Boshoku America announced Monday that its North American office will be located in the CirclePort Business Park in Erlanger, Ky.

“Toyota has a strong presence and has made significant investments in Kentucky with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, in Erlanger and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher. “We welcome Toyota Boshoku America’s North American home office to the fold of Toyota companies located in Kentucky.”

Operations are expected to begin at the new 23,000 square foot office by August 2007. The company plans to hire 100 employees for the new office over the next two years. The company’s R&D and related functions will remain in Michigan.

The company received $2.1 million in tax incentives under the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority’s Kentucky Jobs Development Act in March.

“We are very proud to join our fellow Toyota companies in Kentucky and locate our North American home office in Erlanger for many reasons, including the proximity to Toyota’s facilities and our joint manufacturing plants in the state,” said Sunao Yamamoto, Toyota Boshoku America, Inc. president. “Toyota Boshoku plans to expand its presence and sales in the U.S. and Northern Kentucky.”

Toyota Boshoku America is a manufacturer of automotive interior systems, including seats, door trims, recliners, fabrics and straps for customers like Toyota Motor Corp. and General Motors.
