BMW Manufacturing Names Kerscher President

BMW unit said Kerscher will replace Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen.

BMW Manufcaturing said it named Josef Kerscher president efectively immediately, succeeding Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen.

Kerscher began his career with BMW in 1979 and has served in various positions as group leader and department head at the company's Landshut plant, as director of Assembly at the Munich plant and as plant manager of the Munich plant, BMW said.

BMW Manufacturing, a unit of the BMW Group, is the exclusive manufacturer on the Z4 and M Roadster, Z4 and M Coupe and the X5 Sports Activity Vehicle. In addition to its South Carolina manufacturing facility, BMW's North American subsidiaries include sales, marketing and financial services operations in the United States, Canada and throughout Latin America, and a design firm in California.
