Sherrill Becomes Tenneco's New Chairman And CEO

Gregg Sherrill, 30-year industry veteran, currently is president of Johnson Control's Power Solutions Group.

Tenneco Inc., an auto parts manufacturer, has named Gregg Sherrill, a 30-year industry veteran, as chairman and CEO effective January 15, 2007.

Sherrill, 53, is currently president of Power Solutions at Johnson Controls Inc. He has been responsible for Johnson Control's global automotive battery business since 2003. Under his leadership, the Power Solutions business revenues grew to $3.5 billion.

From 2001 to 2003, Sherrill was group vice president and managing director of Europe, South Africa and South America for Johnson Control's Automotive Systems Group.

Prior to joining Johnson Controls in 1998, Sherrill was at Ford Motor Co. for 22 years, where he held various engineering and manufacturing assignments, including plant manager of Ford's Dearborn, MI engine plant and director of Supplier Technical Assistance.

Tenneco, headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., is a $4.4 billion manufacturing company with about 19,000 employees worldwide.
