Parker Promotes Nitrogen Tire Inflation

Parker Hannifin joins Get Nitrogen Institute; nitrogen-inflated tires are safer than air and more fuel efficient.

Parker Hannifin, a producer of nitrogen generators, has joined the Get Nitrogen Institute to aid in the effort to increase fuel efficiency by promoting nitrogen tire inflation.

According to the Get Nitrogen Institute, a Denver-based non-profit organization, using nitrogen to inflate tires increases fuel efficiency by allowing tires to maintain proper air pressure for a longer amount of time. Nitrogen is completely dry and safer than air.

The simple measure of keeping tires properly inflated can save consumers 3.7 billion gallons of gasoline annually, according to government statistics.

Parker's TireSaver and TireSafe nitrogen generators will be installed at many auto dealers and automotive repair shops. They have over 10,000 nitrogen generators in production worldwide.
