Metaldyne Names Chambers President, COO

Tom Chambers will lead day-to-day operations at company’s 38 facilities.

Metaldyne Corp. said Wednesday Tom Chambers has been named president and COO, effective immediately. He will report to Timothy D. Leuliette, the previous chairman, president and CEO. Leuliette will remain chairman and CEO.

Chambers had previously served as president, Powertrain Group. He will now be responsible for day-to-day operations at Metaldyne’s 38 global facilities. Chambers will also continue to oversee the Powertrain Group on an interim basis.

The officer change is a result of Metaldyne’s recent acquisition by Japan-based chassis and powertrain component supplier Asahi Tec.

Metaldyne is a global designer and supplier of metal-based components, assemblies and modules for transportation related powertrain and chassis applications including engine, transmission/transfer case, wheel-end suspension, axle and driveline, and noise and vibration control products to the motor vehicle industry. It has annual revenues of $2 billion and employs over 6,500 employees in 38 facilities.
