An eastern Maine company has received an $11.1 million contract from the U.S. Army to manufacture more than 58,000 flame-resistant combat uniforms.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins said the contract was awarded to Source for Native American Products LLC in Princeton. The company was formed in 2003 in partnership with the Passamaquoddy Indian Tribe and J&P Apparel.

The work is expected to be completed by next April.
