Boeing Gets Air China Order

Plane maker said it has booked four more orders for its 777 extended range aircraft from Air China, the flag carrier of China, with a list value of $1.1 billion.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Boeing Co. has booked four more orders for its 777 extended range aircraft from Air China, the flag carrier of China.

The new order announced late Monday has a list value of $1.1 billion, although discounts are common. Air China said it will use the airplanes to expand its international routes.

Boeing has sold 42 of the 777s this year, including this order.

The Chicago-based aircraft manufacturer announced an order for four 777s last week for an unidentified customer. Also last week, Cathay Pacific Ltd. said it will exercise options for six more Boeing 777-300ERs.
